First Aid at Work (Level 3)
This excellent interactive three day First Aid at Work (FAW) training course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces to become a confident first aider at work. Giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies it meets the standards required to help comply with The Health and Safety (First aid) Regulations 1981.
This regulated course will be tailored to your needs. The FAW course involves practical and multiple choice assessment and you will receive an externally awarded Ofqual Certificate, valid for 3 years on successful completion.
We offer group courses at special group rates.
With our paramedic trained tutors you will have the confidence to deal with emergencies, develop skills and provide emergency first aid until the emergency services arrive. Annual refreshers (1/2 day) and two day re-qualification courses are also available.

What you will learn
The content of the course will cover how to deal with the following:
- The role of the first aider;
- Managing an emergency;
- Communication and casualty care;
- Health and safety (first aid) regulations;
- Unconscious casualty – the recovery position;
- Emergency life saving aid;
- Resuscitation (adult/child CPR);
- Seizures (adult/child);
- Choking (adult);
- Chest pains (including heart attack);
- Severe allergic reaction;
- Spinal injuries;
- Stroke (CVA);
- Head injuries;
- Low blood sugar;
- Eye injuries;
- Bleeding (minor and severe);
- Burns and scalds;
- Bone, muscle and joint injuries.
Assessment and certification
Continuous assessment by trainer; a practical assessment to cover wound management; Care of an unconscious casualty; CPR and a Multiple Choice paper.
Successful candidates receive a First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.
Tailored packages are available which include initial, annual refresher and re-qualification. Training can be provided at your premises, at our training centre, or at a suitable location nearby to you. We are flexible in our approach as training courses can be provided weekdays, weekends or over the course of selected evenings.
