Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 2)
Roughwood Consultancy is fully regulated through Ofqual. This course is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks (as defined by the Health and Safety Executive), where a nominated or appointed person is required to take charge in the event of an illness or accident. It is also recommended for larger companies when additional First Aid personal are needed to assist those with the more thorough 3 day First Aid at Work qualification.
This regulated interactive course will be tailored to your needs. This course involves practical and multiple choice assessment and you will receive an externally awarded Ofqual Certificate, valid for 3 years on successful completion.
We offer group courses at special group rates.
With our paramedic trained tutors you will have the confidence to deal with emergencies, develop skills and provide emergency first aid until the emergency services arrive. Annual refreshers (1/2 day) and re-qualification courses are also available.
Who should attend?
This course is a regulated First Aid course. It is ideal for ‘nominated’ persons responsible for the First Aid provision in smaller low risk businesses or for people who provide support to qualified First Aiders in larger organisations and those with more complex risks.
What you will learn?
Basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations. Key components of the Emergency Life Support and Basic Life Skills courses tailored to meet your individual and business needs. We will always tailor the course to the requirements of your business.
- Managing an incident;
- The priorities of first aid;
- Dealing with emergencies;
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty who is breathing – recovery position;
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty who is not breathing – CPR;
- Importance of a defibrillator;
- Bleeding, grazes, splinters, embedded objects, amputated parts, knocked out teeth, mouth injury, eye injury, bruising, nose bleeds, objects in eyes, ears, nose;
- Burns and scalds;
- Fitting and seizures;
- Soft tissue injuries;
- Common workplace injuries;
- Contents of a First Aid Kit;
- Post incident, accident forms.
One day – 6 hours.
Assessment and certification
Continuous assessment by trainer; a practical assessment to cover wound management; Care of an unconscious casualty; CPR and a Multiple Choice paper. Ofqual Approved Certification is valid for 3 years
Tailored packages are available which include initial, annual refresher and re-qualification. Training can be provided at your premises, at our training centre, or at a suitable location nearby to you. We are flexible in our approach as training courses can be provided weekdays, weekends or over the course of selected evenings.
